We are building our presence across the eastern U.S. and are looking for someone who already understands industrial manufacturers, especially privately held companies in the roughly $50M–$500M revenue range. This is a commission-only contract role for someone who knows how to build long-term business relationships, create trust, and work with clients to identify where PRAKTIKAI can provide real value.
THE ROLE
This is a relationship-driven role for someone who understands how manufacturing businesses buy, operate, and make decisions. You may come from ERP, MES, industrial automation, controls, manufacturing software, or a similar background. The important thing is that you understand the operational challenges manufacturers face and can connect those challenges to practical data and AI services.
You are responsible for building the market: developing relationships, shaping opportunities, and closing deals. There is no existing territory or pipeline, the expectation is that you use your market knowledge and relationships to create long-term partnerships with clients and grow those relationships over time.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build and maintain relationships with owners, executives, and operators across privately held manufacturing and industrial businesses
- Identify operational, data, and technology challenges where PRAKTIKAI can add value
- Lead client conversations and shape consulting engagements
- Guide business development efforts and close work across training, advisory, and implementation
- Represent PRAKTIKAI in-market through meetings, industry events, and on-site visits
YOU
- Take initiative and is comfortable building something from zero
- Have experience selling into manufacturing and understands how buying decisions are made
- Know the language of operations, production, maintenance, and technology adoption
- Are comfortable working in ambiguous, early-stage environments
- Are focused on long-term relationships and real value creation
- Communicates clearly and operate with integrity
- Are aligned with PRAKTIKAI's approach: practical, clear, and grounded in outcomes
QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with CRM tools: Dynamics 365 Sales preferred, or HubSpot or Salesforce
- Comfortable working across Microsoft Office and standard business development workflows
- Interest in AI and a willingness to learn how associated tooling (AI agents, Copilot, Claude, etc.)
- Ability to engage senior stakeholders in a business context
- Willingness to operate in-market through client meetings, travel, events, and site visits
Desirable but not mandatory:
- Experience selling ERP, MES, industrial automation, controls, manufacturing software, or related services into industrial or manufacturing companies
- Existing familiarity with privately held manufacturers in the eastern U.S., ideally companies in the roughly $50M–$500M revenue range
